'Refuge, workshop, stage, site: Billilla Artist Studios 2022-23' at Bayside Gallery

I’m pleased to have work included as a part of Refuge, workshop, stage, site: Billilla Artist Studios 2022-23 at Bayside Gallery, opening from 6-8pm on November 15, 2023. The exhibition continues until February 25, 2024,

The exhibition has been curated by Joanna Bosse and includes artworks by Yvette Coppersmith, Sarah crowEST, Carolyn Cardinet, Noni Drew, Marie Honore, Steffie Wallace and myself.

The opening event includes a performance by 2023 Billilla studio artist William Vyvyan Murray, an internationally renowned musician and composer with a varied practice. Murray will perform a program of classical pieces as well as original contemporary compositions on the viola.

Backdown to Earth at @14 Langridge

I’m thrilled to announce my final major project for the year, a two week solo-exhibition at @14 Langridge, Collingwood. Presented as a part of the 2023 Melbourne FRINGE Festival, Backdown to Earth includes over ten recent paintings and drawings that depict microscopic imagery.

The presentation will be on view from September 26 until October 9, open between 12-5pm from Monday through to Sunday. There will also be a closing celebration for Backdown to Earth from 3-6pm on Sunday the 8th of October.

'In a State of Limbo' at Castlemaine Contemporary Art Space (CASPA)

I’m excited to share with you all In a State of Limbo, a group-exhibition featuring a curation of wonderful artworks’ by Georgie North, Tinieka Page and Alice Ramsden. Opening to the public from 3-6pm on Saturday the 2nd of September, 2023 - Located upstairs, in the main gallery at Castlemaine Contemporary Art Space (CASPA), Castlemaine.

In a State of Limbo is a group-show bringing together three emerging artists working broadly in the field of non-objective painting. Grounding their practices is an interest in materiality and experimental processes, where each artist considers new ways to articulate the basic principles of form, shape, line, texture and colour within a realm of infinite possibilities.

Centring the idea of gesture as an extension of the body, the show continues an ongoing conversation within historical and contemporary art discourse by highlighting ways in which these three practitioners are currently navigating and adding to Abstraction in Australia.

'Bruise' at Castlemaine Contemporary Art Space (CASPA)

I’m excited to announce my forthcoming, and first regional solo-exhibition ‘Bruise,’ which opens in two weeks today at Castlemaine Contemporary Art Space (CASPA).

The exhibition will take place in the galleries’ recently refurbished space ‘The Annex’ and include a selection of small-medium size oil paintings on linen.

The artworks will depict skin, in particularly bruises, and the ways in which they appear, morph, fade, change and disappear between different stages of time.

‘Bruise’ opens Saturday the 2nd of September between 3-6pm, upstairs (Above Stoneman’s Bookroom) at 101 Mostyn Street, Castlemaine.

'Lifeforms' at Lennox St. Gallery

I’m pleased to have three recent paintings included in Lifeforms, a group-exhibition at Lennox St. Gallery exploring the relationship between Abstraction and the natural world.

The exhibition includes new and historical artworks by Anthony White, Bettina Willner, Jackie Wirramanda, Robby Wirramanda, John Olsen, John Aslanidis, Jorna Newberry, Judy Watson Napangardi and Richard Young.

Lifeforms continues until Saturday, the 9th of September and is viewable at 322-24 Lennox Street, Richmond from Tuesday - Saturday between 10am-5pm.

'Sean McDowell: Collectors Focus Series XII' at Lennox St. Gallery

My online exclusive exhibition through Lennox St. Gallery @lennoxstgallery , titled Sean McDowell: Collectors Focus Series XII, launches this Tuesday the 26th of May.

The presentation features a series of five small-scale oil paintings on linen created over the last 6 months between Mparntwe (Alice Springs) and Naarm (Melbourne).

2023 Billilla Studio Artists Program

I’m excited to share that I’ve been selected for the 2023 Billilla Studio Artists Program through the Bayside City Council.

I’m looking forward to taking up my year long residency in the Parr Studio, housed within the grounds of the historical Billilla Mansion built in 1878.

The residency also involves 6 other wonderful artists, including Yvette Coppersmith, @yvettecoppersmith , Jacqui Byron, Carolyn Cardinet @carolyncardinet , Francis Greenslade @francisgreenslade , Marie Honoré @mariehonoreart and William Vyvyan Murray @williamvmurray
